Tech Ed Behavior and Safety Contract
1. I will take responsibility for my learning and how I use my class time. I will always practice good work ethics.
2. I will give my best work and my best behavior in this class.
3. I will follow all school rules with respect to computer and Internet use. I will only access approved computer programs.
4. Use tools only for the purpose for which they are intended.
5. I will show respect to all members of the class.
6. I will follow classroom protocols such as getting permission to speak and follow instructions the 1st time they’re given.
7. I will only enter the technology lab if the teacher is present.
8. Keep your work area neat and free of scraps and unused tools.
9. I must receive instruction in proper use and permission from my teacher before using any tools, machines or materials.
10. I must dress so that no loose clothing, jewelry or hair can be the cause of an accident. Shoes should be appropriate.
11. I must carry and handle tools in a safe manner. I will always cut away from others or myself. Tools will be carried pointed down and slightly behind me. I will pass tools with point down and offer the handle of the tool.
12. I will use all cutting tools properly and will take care to keep my fingers away from the blades.
13. I will protect all surfaces and computers from cuts and glue by using appropriate protective mats and surface covers.
14. I will use materials without wasting them and will properly dispose of them when they become waste.
15. I will use all glues, glue guns, and tape in a responsible manner.
16. Follow safety procedures as explained by the teacher when using all power tools (stationary or portable).
17. I will not run, play, push, or throw objects in the lab. Distractions can cause accidents.
18. Use care and common sense when using sharp tools.
19. I will keep the lab stations and walk area clean and will put all tools and materials away when finished using them.
20. I will report to my teacher immediately all lab hazards, violations of the safety practices, or any dangerous behavior.
21. Wipe up all spilled liquids immediately.
22. I will wear Safety Glasses when the situation calls for proper eye safety.
23. Report any faulty, broken, or mislaid tools or unsafe conditions to the teacher immediately.
24. Running, jumping, throwing, shouting, or any other horseplay is absolutely forbidden in the classroom.
25. I will follow all emergency procedures in both practice and real situations:
In any emergency, Practice C.S.O. by being Calm, Silent, and Obedient to teacher directions.
A. Evacuation-in case of fire or threats: exit through the door and go to the parking area.
B. Protect body-in case of severe weather..
C. Lock Down-in case of security issues: go to designated area in room.
